At the beginning of the book I didn't think there was any realtion between them at all besides reverend Martin playing his fatherly role as the Reverend. But now that I know Robert X is his son, they are obviously have a relationship(Father-son wise.) But Reverend Martin doesn't seem to remeber much about Robert X.
In the beginning of the story when I did the method TPS-FASTT I could infer from T - Title that Robert and Rev. Phillip Martin were connected in a way that more than, what seemed in the beginning as stalker-ish (coming from Robert X's end) or extreme "admiration."
