Black Boy chapter 1 - 2

During the early stages of his life Richard Wright, the main protagonist, was raised in the racist south. He describes many events of his life as " falling into society as a colored man." During his youth Richard Wright dealt with his father leaving him and having to become the man of the house.

This proves to be the norm of the times because in Twenty's America , though going through many social changes, still had the issue of integration.
