1. In his childhood and early youth, how does Richard react to the submission of other black Americans to white authority?

  1. 1. Richard was free willed in his childhood and confused about the racism and 'white people' he saw around them. So, when something traumatic occurred like with his Uncle Roskins he only thought, "why not fight back" while his family feared them.
    2. Richard's grandmothers religious affiliation is in a christian denomination.
    3. Richard is intense around his strong religious grandmother Mrs.Wilson. Richard has a curious mindset with a different perspective than his grandmother. He explores the modern world, reads books, questions his sorroundings and that seems like a sin to her.
